About CySecK

The Centre of Excellence in Cybersecurity (CySecK) is a flagship initiative by the Government of Karnataka through the Department of Electronics, IT, and Bt, established in 2017 to drive cybersecurity innovation, research, and ecosystem development across the state. Anchored within the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, and supported by the Foundation for Science, Innovation and Development (FSID), CySecK serves as a strategic platform that unites government, academia, industry, and startups to create a secure and resilient digital future for Karnataka and beyond.

Key Focus Areas

Startup Acceleration

CySecK supports cybersecurity-focused startups by offering access to mentoring, go-to-market support, expert guidance, and validation opportunities. The aim is to translate innovative concepts into market-ready solutions.

Skilling and Capacity Building

We conduct cybersecurity bootcamps, faculty development programs, and Massive online open courses to create a skilled and industry-ready workforce.

Research and Innovation

CySecK’s research initiatives focus on the most critical and emerging areas of cybersecurity, particularly in hardware and embedded system security, where the physical and digital domains converge.

Industry Engagement

CySecK facilitates collaboration between academia and industry to align learning outcomes with workforce needs, promote innovation, and encourage knowledge-sharing through forums, panels, and workshops.
